Beach Dresses
Hot, sunshine, summer…. These are words that mean just one
thing to every woman, with or without a looking good knack; shopping. You want a beach dress that makes you comfortable yet flatters your feminine look, one made from a light, breezy fabric. While shopping for a beach dress, find one made using natural fibers rather than synthetic ones. Synthetic apparel sweats profusely despite ads that tell you otherwise. To stay well ventilated stick to cotton or linen beach dresses.
Mini dresses
Mini dresses are trendy, lax and comfortable beach apparel for a girly youthful appearance. Most of them have large floral prints containing liberty prints or vintage inspirations. They go well with your Panama hat, straw handbag and flat beach sandals. They are further enhanced by stylish embroidery and creative lace work.

Maxi dresses
These are elegant flower girl-like dresses that make the ideal attire for attending social gatherings at the beach. They are comfy and very feminine and tend to be an in-thing for the bohemian kind of girls. If you love pastels, you may want to carry with you bold-colored sandals and few other accessories, if any. Some women prefer wide belts on their long dresses while others go for straps made of the same fabric as their maxi dresses.
Shift dresses
These are impressively designed beach wear with no zippers, fasteners, or closures. You simply slip in and off at your own convenience. They appear relaxed and make you feel at ease. They are designed to go up to your knees and are most suitable for formal events at the beach such as evening beach parties. Just like every lady shoe collection must have a pair of ballet flats, your closet is largely incomplete without one or two of these. They are an ideal beach cover but also go a long way to ease you up from day to day commitments.
Empire waist dresses
Women have a long history with empire waist dresses. They give you a stylish and sophisticated look especially if you are have a pear shape and wish to emphasize on your bust while disguising your tummy area. They suit women of all figures because the free flowing skirt camouflages body parts that you may find uncomfortable including the butt, thighs and stomach.
Making your own dress
It’s amazing to know that you do not have to shop for ready-made beach dresses. Sewing your own dress is both cheaper and may be one of those few opportunities to indulge your style and creativity. All you need are your material of choice, scissors, sewing needle, thread, tape measure and elastic. To determine the width of your dress, measure your hip, shoulder or bust depending on which is wider and add six inches to the measurement. Measure your appropriate length from your shoulder downwards and add four inches. Wrap yourself with elastic up to just below the armpits then cut it to the correct size. Place the elastic across your material’s top edge. Sew the top seam, elastic ends, and bottom seam. Turn it inside out, sew the extended edges and try on your brand new dress.
